Importing from WordPress to TypePad: Posts ok, pages ok

Both TypePad and WordPress can import from each other, but unlike WordPress, which imports both pages and posts from TypePad as posts in WordPress, TypePad does not have this problem, so pages and posts are imported seamlessly as pages and posts. Great! At least things work going in that direction. I don’t know if this is a general issue with with Typepad versus WordPress or whether I did something wrong to make this happen.

As it happens though, TypePad isn’t really flawless either: Categories on imported posts/pages appear twice when you list your posts in Typepad (although they only appear once in the category listing) and all your WordPress tags are turned into Typepad categories. So nothing is perfect…

Issue 1: Imported categories appear twice in TypePad

Issue 2: tags in WordPress turn into categories in TypePad
